You will then realize what is service and how you enjoyed all the perks. I am not talking about the illegal gratifications (I am not sure what kind of person you are), but the legitimate perks and facilities. So please don't make fun of retirement. I am a retired government servant who worked for 36 years and enjoying my retirement for the last 13 years. But I know what I am missing. It is not the money I received as salary but the work that I was so used to doing in my service career. Most people who are fit to work miss this, not illegal and illgotten money.Gunasekharanoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5934603184893348012.post-83722854813852973102010-07-17T22:22:44.658+05:302010-07-17T22:22:44.658+05:30DOPT should be complimented for being so imaginati...DOPT should be complimented for being so imaginative, perhaps the first time in its lifetime! Chak de Indian government servants! How else can they pay back the trust the common man places on them? Loot and hari loot! The orders of the DOPT need a fresh review as the Committees and its various Sub-Committees did not obviously take into account the difficulties that the spouse/s and children--illegitimate also--grand and great grand children including their families will have to face once the more than honest breadwinner leaves for deputation to heaven reserved (managed) while in service on mother earth. In order to review such disparities and genuine difficulties of various stageholders, a High Powered Committee should be immediately constituted which shall review the anomalies and submit a report as and when it finishes the work. No fresh terms of reference are considered necessary as the aim of the HPC shall be to try and give an entirely new meaning to the definition of Welfare State.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5934603184893348012.post-43328437240452997742010-07-07T20:55:35.326+05:302010-07-07T20:55:35.326+05:30Mamu, Your blog entry is a magnum opus of Indian B...Mamu, Your blog entry is a magnum opus of Indian Bureaocracy and pristine sarcasm.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10313864080714299072noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5934603184893348012.post-22448382275860773532010-07-07T20:47:04.111+05:302010-07-07T20:47:04.111+05:30A very well-written piece on some of the ‘perpetu...A very well-written piece on some of the ‘perpetually unemployable’ and yet ‘never retiring’ specimens of Indian bureaucracy. There was a time in the late nineties when everyone felt that the almighty civil services will wither away in the context of the upcoming economic reforms and their consequential effects on the structures of governance. That these predictions have been utterly belied and worse, the changed scenario actually used for the betterment of the bureaucrats (plum postings in the corporate sectors now jostle for the retired babu's attention with the usual government sinecures)shows how Indian bureaucracy can defeat the theory of evolution and natural selection. Not only does a powerful (read sycophant) babu continue with the perks of his services after his/her retirement his brood prospers in direct proportion as well (ever heard of a civil servant's child being in a bad way. Why should there be any disquiet over this issue? We deserve the system we choose to elect.<br />"Babus are forever!"Pronabnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5934603184893348012.post-81989090968256304822010-07-01T20:59:15.992+05:302010-07-01T20:59:15.992+05:30This piece is a blazing flame. Vibrancy has ripped apart sloth asking for more debate with the mouth agape. Excellent. <br />Abanikanta Mishraabanikantahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13758762979398971159noreply@blogger.com
